“Deconstructing” ℗ © 2016 The Sweetest Condition Lyrics by Leslie Irene Benson | Music by Jason Reed Milner I finally found a coterie I can get into. A type of family I’ve chosen to belong to. I’ll be the bullet, if you need to pull the trigger. You break your back for me, and I’ll bleed for you. Before we met, I was just a lonely dreamer now we share every bad behavior. The synchronicity is starting to scare me. Now I’m stuck playing follow the leader. I’m afraid. You’re afraid. We’re afraid of deconstructing! I’m afraid. You’re afraid. We’re afraid of deconstructing! I’ve become complacent to the way I feel; started believing what we have is real. I’m consumed by everything you say and do; Can’t draw the line between me and you! I’ll be the bullet, if you need to pull the trigger. I try to follow every order to the letter. From every sacrifice there comes another scar. I’ll feed the knife if it’ll make you feel better! I’m afraid. You’re afraid. We’re afraid of deconstructing! I’m afraid. You’re afraid. We’re afraid of deconstructing! I’ve become complacent to the way I feel; started believing what we have is real. I’m consumed by everything you say and do; Can’t draw the line between me and you! I’m afraid. You’re afraid. We’re afraid of deconstructing! I’m afraid. You’re afraid. We’re afraid of deconstructing! I’ve become complacent to the way I feel; started believing what we have is real. I’m consumed by everything you say and do; Can’t draw the line between me and you!

Faithless 03:58
“Faithless” ℗ © 2016 The Sweetest Condition Lyrics by Leslie Irene Benson | Music by Jason Reed Milner All you know is what you’re told. Asking questions breaks the mold. You stay still to procreate, spreading lies spreading hate. Find salvation in the book of men, cover up your carnal sin. March in line. Don’t ask why. Every day’s a good day to die. You beg. You steal. You don’t care how I feel. You kneel. You pray. You live for one more day. You fight. You fuck. You fall out of luck. You bend. You break. You pay for your mistakes. You follow every command; fear what you don’t understand. Don’t believe what you can’t see, drown in mediocrity. You beg. You steal. You don’t care how I feel. You kneel. You pray. You live for one more day. You fight. You fuck. You fall out of luck. You bend. You break. You pay for your mistakes.

“Don’t Cross Me” ℗ © 2016 The Sweetest Condition Lyrics by Leslie Irene Benson | Music by Jason Reed Milner Your justice has no conscience. Close your eyes and point. She’s guilty! He’s guilty! No time for evolution! Only final solution. Guilty! You’re guilty! Write our names into your book, persecuted for the way we look. Guilty! You’re guilty! Line us up and pull the trigger. Shoot to kill ‘cause it makes you feel bigger. Guilty! You’re guilty! You can do anything you want; keep the chains tight around free thought. You can live your righteous lie, but don’t cross me. Don’t cross me. You can do anything you please— have them worshipping on their knees; tie the noose tight around their necks, but don’t cross me. Don’t cross me! You reason with your demon; play the victim well. Guilty! You’re guilty! You cannot wash your hands clean feeding into the war machine! You’re guilty! Don’t cross me. (Don’t, don’t, don’t, don’t) Don’t cross me! You can do anything you want; keep the chains tight around free thought. You can live your righteous lie, but don’t cross me. Don’t cross me. You can do anything you please— have them worshipping on their knees; tie the noose tight around their necks, but don’t cross me. Don’t cross me!

“Knock Us Down” ℗ © 2016 The Sweetest Condition Lyrics by Leslie Irene Benson | Music by Jason Reed Milner We’ve always lived inside the lines— Right wing, Left hook — clouding our minds, Holding us back, but not this time. We were raised on confusion, products of misinformation. Never got our story straight. This time— it’s too late. We’re drowning in our discontent. I don’t trust the government. It’s a conspiracy. You only know what they want you to see! Knock us down, but we’re still standing! Knock us down, but we’re still standing! You don’t control us with your fear. We won’t submit and disappear. We were raised on promises. So I picket the whitewash fences. Nothing’s ever as it seems. I don’t want the American Dream. You surrender all you are— only living from afar. But I’ll make my own way. For- get tomorrow. Live for today! Knock us down, but we’re still standing! Knock us down, but we’re still standing!

“Keep Turning Me On” ℗ © 2016 The Sweetest Condition Lyrics by Leslie Irene Benson | Music by Jason Reed Milner The circuit boards are rusty; engine’s nearly blown. We’re on the edge of empty, riding through the storm. When destiny starts calling, look the other way. We can’t beat the craving. We can’t break away! Keep turning me on! Keep turning me on!… Keep turning me on!… Before you turn me Off. When destiny starts calling, look the other way. We can’t beat the craving. We can’t break away! Keep turning me on! Keep turning me on!… Keep turning me on!… Before you turn me Off. Keep turning me on! Keep turning me on!… Keep turning me on!… Before you turn me Off.

Vices 04:18
“Vices" ℗ © 2016 The Sweetest Condition Lyrics by Leslie Irene Benson | Music by Jason Reed Milner You try to walk right through me, but I’m a step ahead. You say you want to love me. I might be better off dead. You say it’s evolution — you’re trying to spread. I’d rather start a revolution if only in my head. I’d rather die a martyr than suffer inside this skin the way you’ve always been. So go and choose your vices! Come on, invite them in, no matter where or when. The chemicals control you. Stopped thinking for yourself. I watch you pour the gold liquid from the top shelf. As you rot from the inside, its got you by the throat. I don’t share your delusion. I hope you fucking choke. I’d rather die a martyr than suffer inside this skin the way you’ve always been. So go and choose your vices! Come on, invite them in, no matter where or when. You need to feed the craving. The damage takes its toll. Trade one vice for another. You must collect them all. Give into your temptation. You feast until you’re full. Now you’re flat on your back without your self-control. I’d rather die a martyr than suffer inside this skin the way you’ve always been. So go and choose your vices! Come on invite them in, no matter where or when.

“Depths of Hell” ℗ © 2016 The Sweetest Condition Lyrics by Leslie Irene Benson | Music by Jason Reed Milner Your love is automatic. It burns like gasoline. Consumes me in the fire. Comes hard like a wet dream. I know you stopped trying. I’m done, but you’re done first. Oh no, can’t stop crying. You’ve gone and done your worst. Why don’t you stop lying? When you love — it hurts! I’m gonna fight for you, fight for the rest of my days. I’m gonna fight for you, I will keep your demons away. I’ll be your champion, if you won’t even fight for yourself. I’ll be your legacy, drag you from the depths of Hell. I can hear their bells ringing, disembodied souls singing. This must be the price of love Pay your debts with your blood. I’m gonna fight for you, fight for the rest of my days. I’m gonna fight for you, I will keep your demons away. I’ll be your champion, when you won’t even fight for yourself. “Burn This City” ℗ © 2016 The Sweetest Condition Lyrics by Leslie Irene Benson | Music by Jason Reed Milner You watch me strip down. I show you all my scars. Peel back the layers of the years I can’t get back. You watch me suffer. I feel alone inside my skin. Don’t judge the cover, because you don’t know where I’ve been! I’m gonna burn this city down, shake the ashes off your crown! Bury the time I wasted. Take all of me you tasted. I’m gonna burn this city down, shake the ashes off your crown! Bury the time I wasted. Take all of me you tasted. I feed the fire and throw down all my cards, except the Joker. He’s the one you can’t take back! I want to rewrite you, and paint the picture I see. Inside me, this body, the stranger is ready. I want to rewrite you, and paint the picture I see. Inside me, this body, the stranger is ready. I’m gonna burn this city down, shake the ashes off your crown! Bury the time I wasted. Take all of me you tasted. I’m gonna burn this city down, shake the ashes off your crown! Bury the time I wasted. Take all of me you tasted. I’m gonna burn this city down, shake the ashes off your crown! Bury the time I wasted. Take all of me you tasted. I’m gonna burn this city down, shake the ashes off your crown! Bury the time I wasted. Take all of me tasted.

“Nein Nein Nein” ℗ © 2016 The Sweetest Condition Lyrics by Leslie Irene Benson | Music by Jason Reed Milner You put your hands around my throat! I close my eyes, and wait for the blow. It doesn’t come; it’s getting close. What makes you think, you’ve got control? I put my fist right through your fucking nose! You’re getting blood all over your clothes. I can’t slow down. I’m on a roll. You tell me to stop; I won’t let go. Ich will mehr. Ich will mehr. Ich will mehr, aber du sagst nein! Ich will mehr. Ich will mehr. Ich will mehr, aber du sagst nein, nein, nein! Nein, nein, nein! Nein, nein, nein! Nein, nein, nein! I push you down. You’re on the floor. No, we’re not done, I want some more. This won’t take long. You play your part. I’m not the one who broke your heart. I tie you up. You shut your mouth! Now close your eyes; I’m heading South. Look at what you’ve made me do! I’m born again; your time is through. Ich will mehr. Ich will mehr. Ich will mehr, aber du sagst nein! Ich will mehr. Ich will mehr. Ich will mehr, aber du sagst nein, nein, nein! Nein, nein, nein! Nein, nein, nein! Nein, nein, nein! Let’s go one more round. Not much left when you’re found. You’ll think twice at this game; never going home again. Stop, don’t cry. Now I’m done. Saved enough for everyone. Come on down, Get your piece. Teach a lesson to this freak! Ich will mehr. Ich will mehr. Ich will mehr, aber du sagst nein! Ich will mehr. Ich will mehr. Ich will mehr, aber du sagst nein, nein, nein! Nein, nein, nein! Nein, nein, nein! Nein, nein, nein! Ich will mehr. Ich will mehr. Ich will mehr, aber du sagst nein! Ich will mehr. Ich will mehr. Ich will mehr, aber du sagst nein, nein, nein! Nein, nein, nein! Nein, nein, nein! Nein, nein, nein!

Unforgiven 03:39
“Unforgiven” ℗ © 2016 The Sweetest Condition Lyrics by Leslie Irene Benson | Music by Jason Reed Milner The body’s wasted all skin and bone inside this carcass you call your home. I can’t help notice how hard you try. You try so hard to fit in it’s like suicide. A body broken is meant to heal, too bad the fissure is never sealed! Our bond is broken. Who can I trust within this fine cracked line between the two of us? Unforgiven! Unforgiven! Unforgiven! Unforgiven! Let me betray you to ease the pain. I’m your reflection; Who is to blame? The gears are grinding beneath my skin. A new temptation is sinking in. Unforgiven! Unforgiven! Unforgiven! Unforgiven! Some things you can’t ignore. Some things you can’t erase. You know you can’t rebuild the things you can’t replace. Some things you can’t take back. Some things you can’t let go. No matter what you do we’ll never be made whole.

about

"We Defy Oblivion” blends The Sweetest Condition’s signature synthpop sound with electrorock and industrial influences, paired with thought-provoking lyrics. The album is the follow-up to the duo’s 2015 debut self-release, “Edge of the World.” For this second full-length album, Leslie I. Benson (lyrics + vocals) and Jason Reed Milner (music + synths + guitars) welcome back producer Joel Lauver of Burning Bridge Recordings in Nashville, Tennessee.

Lyrically, the new album explores the current chaotic state of the world, interpersonal relationships and what it feels like when things hit a boiling point.

“We’re exploring much more aggressive territory with this release. We finally get a chance to say what’s been on our minds,” Benson says. “There’s no tiptoeing through this album. It’s meant to make you question what you think you know about the world.”

***** ALBUM REVIEW – 5/5 STARS! *****

“‘We Defy Oblivion’: Electro-Industrial pumps through its veins. There’s a nice slice of Metal running throughout the soul of the album. A smattering of Gothic swish and charm spice up the mix. It’s a unique combination of genres that is perfectly forged and superbly used. There is such power, diversity, talent, passion, love and so much more involved in this album that it is almost overwhelming. It’s pure magnificence made audio.” – His Divine Shadow, 925|Rebellion, Oct. 28, 2016, 925rebellion.com/the-sweetest-condition-we-defy-oblivion/

***** ALBUM REVIEW – 9.5/10 STARS! *****

“There is something about this album and this band that keeps me coming back to them, time and time again. The chimera style is breathtaking; the genres combined work so well together on so many levels." –John Crofts, Brutal Resonance, Nov. 1, 2016, brutalresonance.com/review/the-sweetest-condition-we-defy-oblivion/

***** MORE REVIEWS *****

“Undoubtedly, this band is heading big and the album shows the path of their artistic evolution. If you’re a fan of industrial and synth music that speaks directly without any hidden agendas, ‘We Defy Oblivion’ should be on your wish list.” –Marija Buljeta, ALTvenger Magazine, UK, Nov. 14, 2016, www.altvenger.com/the-sweetest-condition-we-defy-oblivion-album-review/

“I highly recommend this album to anyone who enjoys female vocalists and/or electronic music. Cause yeah, the band really hit a home run with this. … They seem to take the sort of critical and energetic commentary we see in bands like KMFDM and Nine Inch Nails, and add a whole new depth to it, all while twisting things into an almost empowering note. It's a refreshing to come out of an album that is both taking the world seriously, but simultaneously seeing the hope that we can choose to embrace and that recognizes the need for us to reach a better place.” – The Sweetest Condition “We Defy Oblivion” Album Review, by Matthew Delbert Aaron Smith, The Infidel Netwerk, 5/5 Stars, Nov. 2, 2016, www.theinfidelnetwerk.com/single-post/2016/11/02/Review-The-Sweet-Condition---We-Defy-Oblivion

“From the moment you start the album, you get sucked in.” –Liesbet Willems, Luminous Dash, Belgium, Nov. 3, 2016, luminousdash.com/portfolio-items/the-sweetest-condition-we-defy-oblivion/

“It’s industrial with a pinch of pop and a touch of rock. If you accept this genre mix challenge, we strongly recommend you ‘We Defy Oblivion.’” –Thomas Frenken, Electrozombies, Germany, 3.9/5 Stars, Nov. 2, 2016,
