Track No. 8, “This Poison,” from The Sweetest Condition’s debut album, “Edge of the World,” was inspired by the dark underworld of “Vampire: The Masquerade,” “Kindred: The Embraced,” “Interview with a Vampire” and the other ‘90s-throwback pop culture references we love.
In the vampiric underworld of the city, we live in the shadows—grinding with sycophants in a cyclical dance of addiction. We give. We take. We can’t get enough love, lust or blood. And we’re always hungry for more.
PRESS REVIEW:
“This is a hauntingly beautiful track. She’s in the grip of something powerful, and doesn’t know how to escape it. In previous tracks, she was clearly operating from a standpoint of power. Now, she has been all but destroyed.” —Chuck Frey, Modern Synthpop, Wisconsin, Jan. 12, 2016, modernsynthpop.com/the-sweetest-condition-end-of-the-world-review/
One story ends,
another begins.
Let’s hear your
testimony….
It’s inside our blood,
chosen by fate,
our hunger
to satiate.
I can’t get enough,
can’t get enough,
can’t get enough,
of this poison.
Feels like a drug.
The damage is done.
I can’t outrun
this poison.
Chance played a role,
not yet revealed.
Made a mistake,
my fate was sealed.
I can’t get enough,
can’t get enough,
can’t get enough,
of this poison.
Feels like a drug.
The damage is done.
I can’t outrun
this poison.
Now I know,
we share the blame.
All it cost
was my good name.
I can’t get enough,
can’t get enough,
can’t get enough,
of this poison.
Feels like a drug.
The damage is done.
I can’t outrun
this poison.

It's uncanny just how good Actors is at emulating that Post-Punk synth sound from my younger days.
Each listen just gets better and better. I feel slightly ashamed for not having heard this album until a few short days ago. modestwriggles
Bandcamp is my favorite app. Without Bandcamp I would missed out on a lot of great music like Empathy Test! A wonderful album. Occasionally bombastic with nice synths and the voice of Isaac Howlett on top. Well done guys💪🏽 Fredschuit
The more I listen to this the more trouble I have choosing favorite track. I also still think this is witchhouse. Also I think your cover art is incredibly good. But I don't think it is best of your art anymore. I'll switch to Crush for a moment. jesu82
