“‘Vices’ has a bit of the NIN flavor, and even though the tempo is slower, again, the guitar really adds the relentless feel to it. It’s a great piece of work, and although other tracks have more dance potential, I would like to hear this one on the dance floor the most.” –Marija Buljeta, ALTvenger Magazine, UK, Nov. 14, 2016, www.altvenger.com/the-sweetest-condition-we-defy-oblivion-album-review/
“Songs like ‘Deconstructing’ and ‘Vices’ are so delicious in their construction that they almost redefine the meaning of Alternative music – a plethora of intense images fill my mind each time I hear them: it’s this glorious ejaculation of creativity that causes a form of poetolatry to overcome me.” – His Divine Shadow, 925|Rebellion, South Africa, 925rebellion.com/the-sweetest-condition-we-defy-oblivion/
You try to walk right
through me,
but I’m a step ahead.
You say you want
to love me.
I might be better off
dead.
You say it’s evolution —
you’re trying to spread.
I’d rather start a revolution
if only in my head.
I’d rather die a martyr
than suffer inside this skin
the way you’ve always been.
So go and choose your vices!
Come on, invite them in,
no matter where or when.
The chemicals control you.
Stopped thinking for yourself.
I watch you pour the gold
liquid from the top shelf.
As you rot from the inside,
its got you by the throat.
I don’t share your delusion.
I hope you fucking choke.
I’d rather die a martyr
than suffer inside this skin
the way you’ve always been.
So go and choose your vices!
Come on, invite them in,
no matter where or when.
You need to feed the craving.
The damage takes its toll.
Trade one vice for another.
You must collect them all.
Give into your temptation.
You feast until you’re full.
Now you’re flat on your back
without your self-control.
I’d rather die a martyr
than suffer inside this skin
the way you’ve always been.
So go and choose your vices!
Come on invite them in,
no matter where or when.

Bandcamp is my favorite app. Without Bandcamp I would missed out on a lot of great music like Empathy Test! A wonderful album. Occasionally bombastic with nice synths and the voice of Isaac Howlett on top. Well done guys💪🏽 Fredschuit
Three new songs and three remixes from Italian darkwavers Ash Code will surely grace goth club speakers once we can go pick cobwebs again. Bandcamp New & Notable Mar 9, 2021
It's uncanny just how good Actors is at emulating that Post-Punk synth sound from my younger days.
Each listen just gets better and better. I feel slightly ashamed for not having heard this album until a few short days ago. modestwriggles
